New Fellowship Group for Widows | Caring Heart Ministry
“Caring Hearts” is a new fellowship group for our widows. The group will meet monthly beginning in October. We will have time for prayer, fellowship and different activities or outings scheduled monthly. If you would like more information on this ministry, make plans to join us on September 26, at 10AM, in Small Groups Building Room 10. There are also flyers available at the Welcome Desk.
Backpack Buddies Bags are back!
We have our largest number of kids to support this year. We have 41 kids to supply backpack goodies each week. We are looking for small groups or individuals to commit to supplying a certain item each week or month. For a list of items needed please visit gowestwood.org/impact.
2026 Deacon & Work Admin Teams are now open!
Prayerfully consider who you would like to nominate for our 2026 Deacons and Admin Work Teams. Pick up an information card at the worship center doors, visit the church app or website to nominate!
September Our Month to Collect Food for Shelby Baptist Association Food Bank
We will be collection staple food donations for Shelby Baptist Association the whole month of September. Pick up a shopping list at the kiosk in the atrium. Drop off your donations at the marked location in the atrium.
Baptism at the Creek | September 21 | 1:30-4PM | Orr Park
We will have our Baptism at the Creek on Sunday, September 21, at Orr Park in Montevallo. Pack a picnic lunch and join us at the park immediately after the 10:45AM service. If you would like to be baptized at the creek, please visit gowestwood.org and click on the link to sign up or email [email protected] by Wednesday, September 17.

If you are interested in learning more about membership at Westwood or have questions about what it means to be a part of the Westwood family this class is for you. We would love to meet you at 10:45AM in the Westwood Room.
Senior Adult Worship & Potluck | October 8 | 10:30AM
All senior adults are invited to join us for time of worship and singing, followed by a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish (meat, vegetable, salad, or dessert) to share and stay for lunch.
Child Dedication | October 19 | 10:45 Service
We will have our next Family/Child Dedication on Sunday, October 19. If you would like to participate, please register your child by October 10 at gowestwood.org/childdedication.
Trunk or Treat Fall Fest | October 15 | 6-8PM
We are accepting individuals, small groups, or families that would like to host a trunk for our Trunk or Treat on October 15. Please contact Wendy at [email protected] to secure your favorite spot. The deadline to secure your spot is Monday, October 6. We are also collecting candy! Please drop your candy in the collections baskets placed around campus.
