WHAT IS DNOW?

Discipleship Now is an event designed for students where they can experience fellowship with their peers, authentic worship, small group bible study, and biblical teaching.  

 

WHEN IS DNOW 2022?

August 12-13, 2022

Check In begins at 5:00 pm on Friday, August 12th.

DNOW wraps up at 11:00 pm on Saturday, August 13th.

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

Any student in grades 7-12.

 

WHERE WILL DNOW 2022 BE HELD?

All DNOW events will be held at Westwood Baptist Church.

 

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT COSTS AND DEADLINES?

$100 covers all meals, travel, events and a DNOW shirt.

Registration closes July 10, 2022. 

In order to be guaranteed your requested shirt size, you must register by July 10, 2022.  Payments can be made via cash, check or credit card (online only).  There is an added service fee when paying with a credit card online.

When registering, you have the option to choose the registration type related to payment method. 

Late registration will begin on July 11, 2022.  The cost of DNOW will increase to $125 if a student is registered after this date. 

Each additional sibling registered will pay $75. 

Scholarships are available.

 

WHO IS THE SPEAKER?

//Landon Dowden//

Landon began serving as the Lead Pastor of Hebron Church in November 2018. He is originally from Louisiana where he graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Management. He also earned a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been married to his wife, Tara, for over 15 years and they have four beautiful children, Arabella, Adalaide, Adoniram, and Alastair.

Landon has been a Lead Pastor for over 15 years and has led student camps for many national student organizations for the past 23 years. He currently serves as an adjunct professor for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary working in the Doctor of Ministry program in the field of preaching. He has published two commentaries in the Christ-Centered Commentary Exposition Series which are Exalting Jesus in Ezekiel and Exalting Jesus in Esther. Landon’s conviction regarding preaching is that nothing is better for God’s people than God’s word which leads him to preach expositionally through books of the Bible. He also intentionally alternates between the Old and New Testaments, as well as the different genres. Landon has held numerous denominational roles at both the associational and state levels, as well as, serving on 14 international mission trips.

 

WHO IS THE BAND?

//Paxton Brittle//

Paxton is the Lead Worship Pastor at Double Oak Community Church in Chelsea, AL.  During his college years at Auburn University, Paxton served at First Baptist Opelika in Student Ministry as Worship Pastor.  He and his wife, Julie, are expecting their first child (a son) in the fall.  

Paxton has a passion to see students experience authentic worship of Christ.
